OXNARD, Calif. – Protestors lined up along the corner of Channel Islands Boulevard and Victoria Avenue in Oxnard on Sunday afternoon to speak out against a proposed apartment development.
They said they are in favor of reviving Fisherman’s Wharf, but they are opposed to a plan to build about 400 apartments to help fund it.

October 12, 2017 Appearing yesterday at a Coastal Commission meeting in Chula Vista, City Attorney Ken Rozell, appearing on
behalf of the City, and members of HBCA won a clear victory at the Coastal Commission when the Commission
agreed that the Harbor Department and County could not by-pass the City’s jurisdiction. The County had
sought to have the Coastal Commissioners over rule the Commission’s Executive Director’s determination that
the Public Works Plan Amendment required review and approval by the City prior to the Fisherman’s Wharf
project moving forward.
